| Nicolas Enriquez @nicoenri12 for @burndiary || this is my last post for @burndiary I hope you all enjoyed the images and part of the story I’m working on in Toribio-Colombia, a town that has suffered the most from the Colombian armed conflict, were more than 50% of the students under 18 years old are part of the revolutionary militia of the FARC (revolutionary armed forces of Colombia) according to the education department of Toribio.A town were most of the population have turned into growing marijuana and coca trees which are illegal because of the lack of opportunities for those who sell legal crops like tomatoes, coffee or corn.I’ve been surprised by the strength of this community that has been fighting illegal armed groups and military in a revolutionary intent to support the farmers and indigenous people of the area and I hope I was able to show some of it.Photo cred:Several workers cut marijuana leaves at Sebastian’s house in Toribio, they all get paid depending on the weight of marijuana buds they were able to clean, making something between 10 thousand and 20 thousand Colombian pesos a day $3,50 to $7,50 a day. All to support their families and humble lifestyle.#NicolasEnriquez #photojournalism #documentary #documentaryphotography #burndiary #ColombiaSpecial thanks to @fran.gennari for the support and giving me the opportunity of sharing my daily life while covering this story.
