Hi everyone, here’s Alvaro Aponte Centeno @alvarosski taking over burn diary for the next days. On my journey as a writer and emerging film director, I have found in photography a tool to create and discover other stories. It has helped me to capture moments, places and atmospheres that I use as an inspiration to sit down and write a narrative with the purpose of finishing a screenplay. For me photography has become much more than that. Right now is a tool to express what I feel and live. Contrary to film that you work with a lot of people; in photography it’s just the camera and me capturing the moment. I always have a camera to take pictures of strangers, friends and family who are around me. In this pic a woman smokes outside of a puertorrican bar at Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. They are some of the puertorricans that still live in that area right after gentrification had pushed their community of boricuas (puertorricans) out of Williamsburg. Thanks @davidalanharvey and @diegorlando for inviting me!!!
