One Tree Hill | photo by @alistairkeddie Out and about today on a grey and wet day in Auckland and up One Tree Hill for some non existent views. Messed around instead making some stitched pans before settling on the monument at the top of the hill, one of the many extinct volcanoes that dot the Auckland landscape. The monument commemorates a history dating back to 925 and chronicles the arrival of Maori around 1150 through to the somewhat contentious Treaty of Waitangi made with the British Crown in 1840. Though none of the present volcanoes are active, apparently there is a small chance another could erupt at any time…
