This is photo #3 in the sequence from 475 Kent ave. and the games people play. Yes, part of it perhaps a larger fiction story which is brewing away in my head. After I published ( based on a true story), set in Rio, BurnBooks 2012, I became more interested in fiction/drama. Theater. Perhaps even a screenplay. It doesn’t take away at all from my love also of pure documentary. In fact the two help each other inside my head. Yes yes totally different parameters, yet a good story is a good story. No matter the source. One simply must take great care in identifying work as either fiction or non fiction just as books are labeled in bookstores and libraries. Readers just need to know an author’s intent. Acclaimed novelist Teju Cole, “Open City”, @_tejucole was my guest co mentor recently in a book publishing class right here at 475 Kent. We will collaborate this year on a new form of storytelling. Will he provide supporting words for my pictures or will I provide supporting pictures for his words or will we marry our respective efforts into a whole? You can guess how we lean. The “old” way of picture and word use is over from my view in terms of where things will go in the future for experimental storytelling. In books, in movies, and yes even here on your phones.Stay tuned. #475kent #kibbutz #newyork #brooklyn
